A day in the life of Jack

Really it was just a few hours. I followed Jack around with the camera and took pictures of almost everything he did after he got home from school and until bedtime. He is a busy boy!

After school Jack decided to make a huge mess of the kitchen by pulling all of the plastic containers and lids out of the island.

Jack made a beautiful mess. And he found his favorite item – a yellow colander that he carried around for the rest of the evening.

Then he played on his airplane for a while.

Then he strummed the guitar for a bit.

Then it was off to the master bathroom to play with the mirror. He grabbed the edge of the door and tried to pull it off the track by pushing and pulling it as hard as he could.

Then it was time to play with the doors – open and close and open and close.

Then a little sit in the ducky tub – one of the ducky items that taught Jack his third word (quack quack quack).

Then it was time to play in Mommy’s big garden tub. He climbed in on his own – pulling his legs up and sliding them over the edge and lowering himself down into the tub. (Mommy spotted, of course!)

This was the first time he was allowed to play in the tub and he loved it.

Then Jack had a little playtime in the foyer with his Elmo CD player. Silly Grandma calls it a record player. What is a record?

Then Jack visited the dining room to mess with the blinds (which Jack knows he’s not supposed to do).

Then back through the foyer and over to the French doors that go to the study to press his face against the glass.

Then it is off to the study to pull out random toys, play with stickers, point at the airplane and space vehicle models, spin on the desk chair, and then go visit the old wedding pictures of the grandparents. There is a lot to do in the study.

Then Jack wanted to play in his playpen for a little bit and see if he could stand on the rubber balls.

Then it was dinner time, Daddy came home, and then we all went upstairs.

Then it was time for a little dive under the crib to search for lost toys.

Then bath time.

Then after his bath, Jack got his pajamas on and played with his stacking cups in his booster chair for a bit.

And last but not least - a little milk to top Jack off and bedtime stories.
The end!

A colorful life

Visiting Great Grandpa

Today we went to visit Jack’s Great Grandpa on the west side of Houston. We all had a great time and Jack charmed a lot of the female residents. Nana and Granddad were there too and gave Jack some great flashcards.

A bath on Groundhog's Day

Jack just loves bath time. He is just delighted when we turn on the faucet. He will stick his face under the faucet to get a little drink and then flash us a great grin like he just got away with something.

Pictures from the end of January 2006

Jack has figured out that he can open cabinets and drawers. He loves to take out all of the bowls, lids, colanders, etc. We have put most of it back, but he still carries around a lid and a colander.

Jack just loves sitting on our desk chairs. He especially loves spinning around in this one. He spins around sitting up and lying down – sometimes on his back and sometimes on his belly. He just stares into space.
