December 28th - MN Trip Day 10

Today we took both boys to a local sledding hill. It was Charlie's first opportunity for some outdoor fun and he seemed to like it. He knew right away that snow was good to eat and really enjoyed going down the hill in his little sled. Jack didn't like the sledding a whole bunch because there was a big playground at the top of the hill which he had much more fun with. After we got home, Jack didn't want to go inside again, so I introduced him to icicles. In the last picture he is snacking on one.

December 27th - MN Trip Day 9

After Charlie's afternoon nap, we took a trip to the Mall of America. We got the boys all bundled up for the short trip to the mall. At the mall we went on the merry-go-round, semi trucks, and train rides. Jack doesn't look so happy on the train, but he was taking his job very seriously saying, "Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga... Choo Choo!"

December 26th - MN Trip Day 8

It was another beautiful day in Minnesota. It has been snowing almost every day here. The snow was piled up on all of the tree branches - so pretty!

When Charlie was down for his morning nap, we made a gingerbread train. Jack put a few pieces of candy on the train, but most of it went straight into his mouth.

Ronny wasn't so happy with the structural stability of the train engine design.

Ronny put frosting and candies on Jack's hand thinking that he would have fun eating them off, but instead he fed some to Ronny and wanted the other wiped off. Funny kid.

After two 10-minute stints outside earlier in our trip, Jack finally discovered the joy of outside play in the wintertime. He stayed outside for quite a while and we even took a walk around the neighborhood. What he really loved, though, is eating the snow. Ronny would make him a snow patty that he would hold and eat as he walked.

Jack got this awesome set of dinosaurs from Grandma for Christmas. Out of the blue, he will yell, "It is dinosaur time!!!" Funnier still, the other day I hear, "Charlie's eating the Parasauralophus!" It is always funny to hear your 3-year-old shout out a six-syllable dinosaur name.

December 25th - MN Trip Day 7 - Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Our day was full of crazy fun. Jack woke up with some crazy hair and he and Charlie came upstairs to see what Santa left for them in their stockings. Fun stuff! After lunch, Holly, Ryan, and Espen came over to play, open presents, have dinner, and play some more.

December 24th - MN Trip Day 6

Today was a pretty lazy day for us. Charlie discovered the joy of sticking his tongue out.

December 23rd - MN Trip Day 5

December 22nd - MN Trip Day 4

Another 10 minutes in the snow...

December 21st - MN Trip Day 3

We had another day of fun in Minnesota - performing duets on the organ, playing with lots of toys, watching Grandma build a snowman, and goofing off with Espen and Holly.

December 20th - MN Trip Day 2

Our first full day in MN was lots of fun. Jack got all bundled up and went outside to play. We slid down the steep hills next to the house and went down into the backyard. Jack made a snow angel on the ground just like we read about in a book yesterday. It was very cute. We were outside for about 10 minutes when Jack got some snow on his wrists and wanted to come back inside.
