June 22nd - Ultrasound

We had our big 20-week ultrasound yesterday and the baby looks as healthy as can be. I was 20 weeks + 1 day along, but the baby was measuring right at 21 weeks. Jack always measured a bit big too. Below is a profile shot starting at the belly on the left, with the chin in the middle and the top of the head on the right.

Below is a head-on shot where the baby looks like an alien. A friendly alien, though, he is waving at the camera.

And here is what you've all been waiting for... Yes, it is a boy! The Baccus house is due for another little troublemaker.

June 9th - Anxious for Daddy to come home

June 4th - Jack, where's your bellybutton?

May 29th - Messy

After being outside for a while in the hot sun, we were all starving for dinner, so we gave Jack a bit more to feed himself than we normally do. Eventually he gave up with the spoon and started using his fingers to feed himself applesauce and whatever else he was getting for dinner.

May 29th - Pool time

We bought a pack of swim diapers and a floatie swim suit for Jack because it is starting to get unbearably hot here. I also bought an inflatable pool, but that ended up being a huge hassle and has since been sent away with the garbage. Since then we have been to our neighborhood pool a couple of times. At first Jack was really apprehensive, but now he seems to really like it.

May 27th - Gymnastics

Jack started a gymnastics class this weekend. There are only a few other kids in the class, which is nice. They spend 15 minutes in a big room upstairs with lots of mats, balance beams, bars and rings to swing on, and things they can bounce on. There is also a ladder on the wall to climb. Jack climbed the ladder and sounded the horn. Then he looked down and saw that he was about 8 feet off the ground and promptly freaked out. When we are worn out from the upstairs, we go down a big swirley slide to the downstairs and play in a foam pit. There is a platform that Jack's coach, Travis, sits on and the kids can jump down to their parents. Jack liked that a lot. Then we get to go on the big trampoline. When we've all had our fill downstairs and the kids start getting antsy, we head back up stairs to run around some more. Then Travis gives the kids animal stamps on their hands and legs.

May 14th - Happy Mother's Day

We went to visit Nana and Papa for Mother's Day. They had lots of great books for Jack to read.

We took a trip to Nana's library and Jack ran all around.

All that fun really tired Jack out.

May 10th - Purple purse

Jack likes to do whatever we are doing and today he pulled Mama's purse out of her bag to carry it around the house for a while.

May 7th - Blue Eyes
