April 27th - The Zoo

This morning the weather held out just long enough for us to have a nice visit to the zoo.

April 26th - Monkey N Around

Today after some play time at home, we went to Monkey N Around since it was too rainy to go to the zoo. The boys had lots of fun playing with all of the toys, but they always came back to the bubble cars. They love the train table too.

April 25th - The National Space Trophy Dinner

Tonight was the annual National Space Trophy Dinner. We had a lovely time.

April 24th - Happy Birthday Grandma!

Jack helped Grandma blow out her candles tonight and we all enjoyed some birthday cake.

April 21st - Walks with Grandma

Grandma takes the boys for walks every day. They love it!

April 20th

We got a new grill this weekend and the boys love playing in the grill box. It is like an indoor version of the play house where they don't let each other in or out. Lots of arguing ensues.

April 19th - A Visit with Nana and Papa

Today we went to visit Nana and Papa. We stopped by the apartment in Bellville to pick them up before heading to "The Hill" for the "Best Hamburgers in Austin County". They were pretty good and the sweet potato fries were excellent. After lunch it was off to see the house Nana and Papa's are building in New Ulm. The boys loved running around the house and playing in the closets. After the house, we went to Fayetteville for Texas Pickin' Park's 1st Annual Bluegrass Festival. We had a lot of fun walking around the town and listening to bluegrass music. After the festival, we went to see Nana's library in Industry. Then it was back to Bellville for Nana and Papa and then back home for us.

April 9th - Flying again

After a 4-year hiatus, I started flying for NASA again. This time, I'm flying on the C-9 with the Reduced Gravity Program as an alternate test director. I flew on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday we flew mostly zero-g parabolas and Thursday and Friday we flew mostly Lunar parabolas. So far it is a blast and it is great to learn about a new aircraft program.

When I came out into the living room wearing my flight suit, Jack looked at me in awe. He asked, "Are you going to space, Mommy?" I told him, "No, I'm just going flying." He already had the story going in his head, though. He said, "You're going to space and you're going to see space shuttles and rockets!"
